The project’s architecture is based on two overlapping complementary structures. On the one hand, in contact with the ground, shared spaces deployed alongside a long street that runs from the inside to the outside open onto a landscaped courtyard. The glass façades and large awnings call for relaxation and fresh air. On the other hand, on the superior floors, the classrooms are grouped along an interior double height street that acts as the backbone of the project. The interior street’s scale creates closed spaces, conducive to concentration. The volumes are protected by solar-shading devices that unify the whole structure. The break-up of the volumes complements the diversity of axes of circulation and generates subspaces of different sizes and atmospheres. The life of a student is also composed of breaks, of moments between classes, of lessons to learn and presentations to prepare, therefore, these informal spaces serve as landmarks that can easily be owned by the students. The design of these spaces has been carried out with a lot of attention, from the alcoves dedicated to group work, to the seating used for conversations and the tables used for dining. The implements are mainly architectonic but can take the form of modular furniture.
