GUANGZHOU ROYAL LEE CANCER HOSPITAL
“GARDEN HOSPITAL — A THREE-DIMENSIONAL HEALING SPACE"01 INTERNATIONAL INTEGRATIVE MEDICAL PLATFORM
Guangzhou Royal Lee Cancer Hospital is a private high-end tertiary cancer hospital, located in the core area of China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge New City, only 35 minutes away from the city center of Guangzhou.
Royal Lee Cancer Hospital, the Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University and Taihe Cancer Hospital have jointly formed the "Three Hospitals in One" high-quality platform for cancer prevention and treatment. With the goal of jointly building "Guangzhou International Medical Valley", Royal Lee Cancer Hospital is committed to building a world-class medical and health hub integrating research and development, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation. Based on the integrated planning idea, the three hospitals are organically combined and strategically laid out to achieve "misplaced development and resource sharing".
In the general layout, the overall image of the platform hospital cluster is strategically considered. Through the intensive layout of buildings and concessions, the maximum greenery is released on the limited base, so that the high-quality landscape space not only serves the hospital, but also opens to the city. In the base facing the other two hospitals, the natural mountain is reserved to the maximum extent, and the central landscape of 10,000 square meters is reserved together with the other two hospitals.
In order to realize resource sharing with the Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, an air corridor is set on the west side of the second floor of the main building, which is a medical technology platform closely connected with the two. Basement through through, so that the logistics system and the parking lot seamless connection. The internal traffic of the hospital is mainly circular streamline, and the medical streamline is more reasonable.
02 GARDEN HOSPITAL — A THREE-DIMENSIONAL HEALING SPACE
As a boutique medical service institution, the project introduces the design concept of "Garden Hospital". The whole group of buildings is located in the garden, which cleverly takes advantage of the natural trend of the original terrain and creates a comfortable indoor and outdoor environment through the multi-level landscape garden. The entrance courtyard, roof garden and three-dimensional greening are designed to provide a warm treatment environment for medical staff and patients. Along the roadway, the buildings are arranged around the perimeter of the plot. People and vehicles are separated in the courtyard, and the zoning is clear, highlighting the "garden-style" characteristics.
Through solid stone, flexible glass, warm wood and vitality of vegetation, the whole building endows Royal Lee Cancer Hospital with noble, elegant and green temperament. Combined with the flowing arc shape, it perfectly deems modernism style and plays a movement full of fantasy vitality.
Located at the main entrance of the hospital, a clever cantilever of the podium building is eye-catching. It is not only a reserved air corridor associated with the second phase of the construction, but also serves as a canopy for the iconic entrance of the hospital.
Another design highlight is the facade of the window shape, both modern clever shape and meticulous practicality. Taking the climate characteristics of Guangzhou into full consideration, the convex decorative outer frame, as part of the shading system, plays a role in shading the southern lighting surface. In addition, air drying and effective natural ventilation were also considered in the facade design.
Large areas of lighting Windows allow indoor users to have good natural lighting and vision, combined with the elaborate arrangement of bay Windows, warm wood furniture and thoughtful storage space, to create a warm indoor environment conducive to the rehabilitation of patients.
Centering on the service concept of "VIP customer experience", the design of the center lobby, vertical transportation and air corridor creates a smooth and convenient flow of medical treatment, a barrier-free, convenient and elegant medical experience for the whole hospital, just like walking in a garden.
Under the guidance of the concept of low-carbon energy saving, the scheme takes the strategy of passive measures first, pays attention to the building's thermal insulation, natural ventilation, natural lighting, sufficient sunshine, effective shading, and adopts the circulating cooling water system to set up water treatment measures and rainwater collection system, so as to effectively reduce the operating cost of the hospital.
