Futian District Women & Children Hospital in Shenzhen Was Topped Out！

The Futian District Women and Children Hospital in Shenzhen, designed by AIA Life Designers, was toppped out on August 2, 2022!

As a key project invested by Futian District government, the Futian District Women and Children Hospital aims to become a benchmark project the Bureau of Public Works of Futian District with the goal of China Construction Engineering Luban Prize, the highest award of engineering quality in China's construction industry. The project is also the first prefabricated hospital in Shenzhen, leading the construction of a smart hospital in the future. In November 2018, AIA Life Designers won the international design competition of this project by an absolute advantage. The construction of the project officially started in November 2019.

The project has won the 6th China's Top 10 Hospital Architectural Design and the Pre-certification Certificate of China Green Building Two-star Design. From the combination of the project program with its site, came the concept of “Green Steps of Life”. The project consists of a series of terraced gardens, as well as double-height green areas, offering outdoor activities as extensions of the interior functions. Basically, the entire original site is extruded at different heights, creating green terraces which make it possible to improve the user's experience in a high-rise building.

The Futian District Women and Children Hospital is scheduled to be delivered by the end of 2023. As the first hospital integrating traditional Chinese and Western medicine for women and children in Shenzhen, it will serve as a landmark for the district, as well as an example to follow of hospital design in Shenzhen.
