AIA Life Designers won the project management contract of the Center Pompidou (CNAC-GP)

As one ne of the largest modern and contemporary art museums in the world, Le Centre National d 'Art et de Culture Georges-Pompidou (CNAC) in Paris is a cultural signature of France, and also an immortal classic in the history of human architecture.

01 WIN THE PROJECT

After 2 years of competitive dialogue with the contracting authority (CNAC, Oppic, WSP) rallying 40 people from 10 different specialities (architecture, engineering, environment...), it’s our environmentally committed project that was selected for the renewal of this masterpiece of architecture designed by Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers in 1977.

02 GREEN RENEWAL

Even though the building is very efficient and in remarkable condition, it now requires a highly technical and surgical reworking.

After 50 years, rules and regulations widely evolved. The growing environmental awareness leads to more energy savings, sustainable materials, and consideration of the building impact no matter its scale. As for the security, accessibility, and maintenance standards in these public facilities, they have now completely changed.

To accompany those evolutions while answering the program’s ambitions, AIA Life Designers designed an exhaustive project: asbestos removal, air sanitation, fire stability, structural audit, complete rework of electric and heating installation, environmental commitment… a second life for the next 40 years.
